When Longhorn Amps started, the first production amp I built was the "Texas Blues" amp. It was based on the famous "Steel String Singer" amp. Not much information was available at that time on the actual circuitry inside the amp. My interpretation turned out really well, got me a lot of good reviews and a start in the business. I went on to make a simpler (Less expensive) version omitting the High and Low Step filters. Actually the filters weren't totally omitted, I just hard wired my favorite setting inside the amp. This was the "Texas Tru Tone" amp, to which I later added a foot switchable overdrive channel creating the "El Vaquero" that morphed into the "El Patron" amp.
Fast forward - the actual circuit used in the SSS is pretty well documented now. I decided it was time to reintroduce the "Texas Blues" amp now using the circuit in SSS serial number 002.
